Up in the Air

 Wednesday, March 30, 2011

We took a quick trip to mostly Idaho to see family since my parents and sister came out for Spring Break!
My grandma drove up with my dad and little brother for a few days! Here she is right before a dinner of yummy calzones (Thanks Britt)!

My mom loved seeing both her grandbabies even though they were a little cranky because of new teeth! Naturally Ethan and Lily love the computer, so we put on some Baby Einstein.

Lily took to Spencer and Hannah really fast - sometimes she even chose them over me.  I tried to be mad, but my arms are so tired from holding her all the time, I was glad for her giving me a break.

Poor Ethan had to deal with Lily all week, when she wasn't  tackling him to give him a hug (she loves to give hugs to other kids), she was poking him, following him around or in this case, holding his ear.  Not pulling it, or pinching, just holding. What a nut.

My dad loved holding his grandkids too! And they loved wrestling with him!

We had another little birthday party, my sister made this cute shirt! And bright cupcakes that were yummy,  but Lily was so tired she didn't really eat it, just crushed it into tiny crumbs! We ate them all for her though...

With Uncle Spencer.

And Aunt Hannah.

I finally remembered to get a family shot right before I left for the airport, but sadly Britt, Jared and Ethan weren't there.  Hopefully my mama has some of us all!

Squeaky

I got Lily some Squeakers shoes.  We all love them.  Thank goodness the squeaks are removable!

And no, I have no idea how to rotate this video.

Hip Hip Hooray Little Lily Is ONE Today!

 Saturday, March 19, 2011

We can't believe it. Our little Lily bug turned one today.  She has been such a joy to our family and entertains us all day long!. She started the day by tapping on Adam's shoulder while he was asleep and saying "Dada?" When he didn't respond she turned to me and said "Mama?" We sang her "Happy Birthday" in bed and began the day. Her birthday festivities started last weekend in Las Vegas and will continue throughout the next week so stay tuned for the rest of the party!

She has become a pro at present opening. Here she is with great-grandma Farres.

Testing out the wrapping paper.

 Figured it out!

She had this serious look on her face the whole time she was opening the presents!

Her favorite! Books - and this one reads stories to her!

 Happy Birthday!

Looks pretty good...

 Tastes pretty good...

Thanks Mom!

Hey where did my cake go?

Give it back!!!

Ok, I'll take a stroller from Aunt Nicole instead.

I had really good intentions for Lily's first birthday, but when it came right down to it, a party with three people is just not worth a big to-do in my mind. I think I'll spend more effort when she can actually remember what's going on.

I did try to make a party hat for Lily to wear today, but this is as close as she let me get it to her head. Notice her ripping out her bow? Lovely little girl.

More presents? So excited!!

I got this paper tearing thing down!

This is it? Sheesh Mom and Dad you are lame.

Happy Birthday sweet baby!

Hairy Situation

 Tuesday, March 8, 2011

Lily's hair is getting longer, but it never seems to be long enough to do anything with so we have four options:

1. The sprinkler or Pebbles look

2. Pony Tail

That makes her look like a boy.

 3. Nothin, which also make her look like a cute little boy.

4. Or clippies.

Any way I choose, the real story is how bored I must be to write a blog entry about my daughter's hair style or lack thereof.

Little Miss Mess

 Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Now that Lily is walking everywhere, I find little messes all over the house.  For instance:

My make-up, brushes and combs, pens and water bottles in my dresser, her dresser, and the closets.

One morning as I was brushing my teeth, I heard a splat and saw..

Daddy's phone charger in the toilet.  Her face was so innocent (and pleased) I could only be a little mad. Now toilet seats are ALWAYS down and bathroom doors shut. We had been doing this for a little while but apparently not perfectly.

I am in need of a baby gate for the stairs, which Lily loves to climb up but has yet to master the down part.  Here is my current improvisation.

Not working so well anymore.  Off to Babies 'R' Us.

Lily loves Adam's gold clubs. Particularly his putter with the bright yellow grip.  She drags it around much to her dad's chagrin.

And yes, she always has something in her mouth.  Teething? I think so...

We sure love Lily and all her messes.

Rainy Day Fun

Adam's family came out to visit for the weekend and despite the rainy weather we had a good time! Lily entertained us all and when she was ready for a nap, we busted out the stroller, silly hat, and gloves from Grandma to brave the cold. They were a little big and Lily couldn't quite make out what they were doing on her hands...

There is this humongous tree in our neighborhood that is quite possibly one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  Every single time I walk by, I have to stop and look.  Its just one of those little moments where I feel like God's hand is truly in every aspect of the world.

We took a trip downtown to see Adam's office way up on the 46th floor.  Every twenty or so floors have an elevator, it goes so fast I kinda felt like I was taking off an airplane. 46 doesn't sound too high until you get up there and look down, at which point you realize the cars look like ants. Pretty neat.  He can see the ocean, the Hollywood sign and a few other landmarks from different corners of the building.

Lily riding along with Papa and Grandma Hales on the way to CPK for lunch.

Since it was All-Star Basketball Weekend the downtown area had some different activities going on.  We headed underneath the street for "Los Fearless." It was a two-on-two basketball tourament for "people?"  Ha ha I don't know who they were, but everyone was about two feet taller than me.

Lily loved having so many new toys, um people, around; she was nothing but smiles all day!
